Wonder Woman Film Review

Now this was defiantly an awesome film. Glossing over the fact that parts of it may have looked like a Tresemme advert, Gal Gadot definitely did Wonder Woman justice.

For some, it may have been a slow start but I quite enjoyed the little build up to all the action. I think it helped build wonder woman’s character up, by seeing how strong minded she was even as child, her culture [being surrounded by equally strong and strong minded women] and her training.  One of the highlights for me was seeing all these strong women fighting. Although the flips during the fighting scene were unnecessary, they were so awesome that it didn’t matter, it also made the film that much more entertaining.

The Themyscira Island itself was stunning and really portrayed paradise, with its sandy beaches, beautiful glowing water in a cave and huge grand castle like buildings really added to the beauty of this film.

Moving on we see the emotional scenes which allow her to see the death of a loved ones for the first time. We also see her making the decision to leave going against her mother’s wishes to help and fight alongside the humans.

Set in a time whereby women were not yet seen as equal, it was invigorating to see Wonder Woman be the first  to go through no-man’s land regardless of people’s discouragement,  to stand up for what she believed in and get it done regardless of people’s initial thoughts of her. All displaying that she was not only capable of doing what they did but also being much stronger and going above people’s initial perceptions of her. [Yes I know this is a superhero movie].

Finding out who the main villain (her half-brother) was, was somewhat of a surprise and a little unexpected but it tied the film nicely together. At the end of it all, there was a mixture of she was right, victory and sadness. Along with the ultimate message that every human has imperfections and may not be completely good, coupled with it’s better to be driven by love than hate.

All in all, putting aside the recent controversies to do with Gadot, it was a fantastic film and DC truly made a strong woman superhero that inspired and invigorated women.

Gone But Never Forgotten

Looking off into the distance,
As the raindrops trickle along the window,
Wondering what you would be doing,
On this rainy day…
If you were still here,
Would you make all the jokes,
Like you did back then….

Wonder what you would think of us all today,
What sort thing would you say?
Would you be proud of me,
What advice would you give me now I’m grown…

That’s one of the things I think about,
when rain comes pouring down….

Your memory is forever ingrained…
I will never forget you….

I still have the thank you postcard,
You sent to me back then,
And read when I’m feeling sad…

I didn’t that you would be gone so soon,
After you sent me that postcard….

Miss you granddad….

See you in the stars.

Past Lovers

Its been about a week since my last post, so here’s a little something I wrote keeping the bleach theme going. It is from Matsumoto Rangiku’s point of view to Ichimaru. Please keep in mind I still haven’t completed bleach and have only watched till about episode 70 or so. Hope you like it.

You’re always leaving,
Without telling me,
Where you’re leaving to…

And you are always,
On my mind,
But I never get the chance,
To tell you…

I want to know,
What you’re thinking,
Why are you doing,
The things you’re doing,
What’s the reason,
Behind your thinking…

Everyone tells me,
Not to trust you,
But I know that,
You will never hurt me…

You always say these,
Silly things,
That make me think,
Maybe just maybe,
We could be a thing…

Come back safe…

Thank you & Sorry

Feeling a little lost,
Cause its been a while,
Since I’ve been here alone….

I know I can be distant,
And that I don’t always say,
What I think…

When times are rough,
I know that,
I sometimes just walk away…

When I’m angry,
I stay silent,
To cool down.
Or I do the opposite,
And shout or cry aloud…

Maybe its been a long time coming,
I just didn’t want to let go….

But I want to thank you for all you’ve done.
And everything that we’ve been through,
All those times,
You stood there,
Right by my side….

And sorry for any pain that I caused…

Addicted to You.

It’s been a while since I last saw you,
And I can’t get you outta of my head,
Cause I’m so addicted to you…
You made me smile,
Every time I saw your face…

You knew just what to say,
When I was feeling down,
You knew how,
to bring my spirits up again.
You made me laugh, you made me smile…

Now I can’t get you outta of my head,
Cause I’m so addicted to you…

I miss you,
The guy who would be there,
For me.
The one who understood,
My needs…

Now I can’t get you outta of my head,
Cause I’m so addicted to you…

I remember we use to talk,
About such random things,
But it was cool,
As long as I was with you….

Now I can’t get you outta of my head,
Cause I’m so addicted to you,
Wandering  what your doing,
If your thinking about me,
Like I’m thinking about you…
Thinking about you…

Lunch at Mildreds’ and a quick Review

Yesterday, I had a day filled with ups and downs as we walked around Central London, going to shops, looking at street performances and buying things, as you do. But one of the best parts of the day for me was Lunch because when we went Mildreds;’ a Vegetarian Restaurant  in central London.

Now this was the first time I’d been there and I definitely want to go again. It was delicious and not only that but the staff were friendly and seemed like they really enjoyed working there. It had a lovely atmosphere and all tables were full (Every time I see it there’s a line out the door- just to give you a sense of how popular it is).

Now back to the food. Now this is food to write home about, it is crazy good. So here’s what me (Green) and Alan (Blue) had for lunch:

Starter:

  • Panfried Halloumi, Cherry Tomato and wilted Spinach with Balsamic glaze
  • Gyoza dumplings with Mirin and Soy dipping sauce

 Main:

  • Fresh Tortelloni filled with Pumpkin and Ricotta, with Chestnut Mushroom, White Wine Cream sauce, drizzled with truffle oil
  • Organic Black Bean Burrito, with Red Pepper and Green Tomatillo Rice, topped with Tomato Salsa and Cheddar with Iceberg, Sour Cream, Guacamole and Pico de Gallo

Side:

  • Sweet potato fries with mayo (The mayo is super yum)

Dessert:

  • Banoffee Crème Brulee, Salted Caramel Bananas, Chocolate Chip Shortbread
  • Maple Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream
  • With Cappuccino

Yes we probably did overdo in terms of how much we ate and we were stuffed when we went out. The two best dishes there in my opinion was the Tortelloni and the Banoffee Crème Brulee, they were really, really yummy, could not get enough of them, but all the food was great. The only one I might not get again is the pecan pie but it does go well with the ice-cream. The rest was astounding and so yes I would highly recommend it. It’s suitable for all sorts of occasions, dates, friends, etc. Price wise for the food you are getting you can’t really complain.

Anyways hope you enjoyed reading this and if you have any veggie friends this is definitely a place to check out.

Gentle Rain

So it was raining gently this morning and as I was thinking I came up with this little poem. I hope you enjoy it. 😀

Rain is peacefully pattering down,
It suits my mood,
As it washes away
the impurities of my heart…

The gentle pattering
is not like Heaven’s crying,
But as if the Heaven’s are
Cleansing the Earth,
Watering and revitalizing its resources…

Cooling hot tempers.
Helping those whom cry,
to hide their tears.
Those who are sad,
to feel as though someone knows their pain.
And calming the hearts of all others…

On this peaceful rainy day…

Diversity’s Limitless-Reboot Tour at O2 Arena

I am aware I have not written on this for some time, which is largely due to being busy but also to being slightly lazy >.<

ticket

But I figured I would write about last night since it was pretty darn amazing.

So last night I went to see Diversity’s Limitless-Reboot Tour in the London O2 Arena (which was sold out!), with Alan Man and it was probably one of the best live performances I have ever been to as well as being a night to remember! If you have never been to see them, I highly recommend it.

The storyline made it seem like we were watching a 5D film! I loved the whole concept of the Diversity members (Ashley, Perri, Warren, Jordan, Terry, Ike, Sam and Mitchell)  becoming protectors of the earth, in order to stop ‘the destroyer.’ I thought it was a great touch, especially with all the superhero films and TV shows coming out lately.

Super

Diversity kept me captivated the whole way through, as not only were their dances full of energy, with a variety of styles included, making you want to dance along with them but there were also some interesting and nice surprises as well. Such as them walking through the audience hi-fiving people (I got to Hi-Five Ashley =D), taking selfies with fans, and at one point Ashley was hanging in the air doing a death defying stunt.

Diversity 1Then along with all this, there were the special guests (such as: Acropolis Live, Boadicea Crew, etc.)   who were equally as captivating, from their stunning acrobatics and flexibility to their dances. And to much of the audience’s delight Theo McKenzie-Hayton also makes an appearance.

All in all it was an unforgettable night, and one I will always remember.

merchandise

Oh yeah also brought a Diversity Jumper, which was soft and warm, and a Diversity T-shirt saying protector, causally gonna feel like a superhero haha
